Ephedra Sinica--Ma Huang
Today, Ephedra is an herb of controversy. It contains Ephedrine, a stimulant alkaloid used in many weight loss medicines, but the herb has been used safely by the Chinese for thousands of years where it was used for treating asthma and increasing energy.
The common name in China is Ma Huang.
Due to restrictive regulations of Ephedra and unreliable sources, we have not been able to get new shipments for quite a while. We do offer Sida cordifolia, another plant containing ephedra alkaloids as well as Mormon Tea, a relative of Ephedra sinica, native to the United States, though.
Our Ephedra (Ma Huang) is cultivated in China without chemicals.
