Diplopterys cabrerana (Chagropanga, Chaliponga)
Please note, we were illegally raided in February and our Chaliponga supply was seized. While the BS charges were dropped, our lawyers have advised against carrying more for the time being. Our former suppliers have teamed up to start their own site, though, and are offering it at the same prices we sold it for before with shipping from inside the U.S. Please purchase your Chacruna from them to help them get back on their feet and support their families and businesses. Their web site is PlantDyes.net
Chaliponga is a regular companion to Banisteriopsis Caapi in Ayahuasca brews in much of the Amazon. Although Psychotria viridis (Chacruna) is more familiar and the most commonly associated admixture plant with the Caapi vine, Chaliponga is prefered by many ayahuascaros through the Amazon in Equador, Western Columbia and Northern Peru and actual use of Chagropanga in Ayahuasca may be more common than Chacruna, overall.
The alkaloid content of Chaliponga can be several times that of Chacruna and some tribes such as the Harakmbet believe that one must "graduate" to Ayahuasca with Chaliponga after four or five Chacruna-prepared Ayahuasca experiences.
